Game of Thrones from Microgaming: Slot Review - the excellent slot based on the hit TV series

This game is based on the hugely successful TV series and book called Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. Being a fan of both, I was very eager to dive in and see if this game does it justice.

It does not disappoint let me tell you, it recreates it wonderfully and fans of the show and even newcomers will find themselves immersed in this game in no time.

Special Features

The first feature that I noticed while playing this game was the iconic Game of Thrones logo.
This acts as a wild symbol and substitute for all other symbols, which increases your chance of winning paylines. They can also be stacked meaning that they can cover all the spaces on a reel to further your chances of a big win!

The infamous “Iron Throne” which all the houses are vying for in this game is the Scatter Symbol. If 2 of these symbols land across the reels then you will be awarded a random bonus amount.

You then get to choose one House of Westeros and there is ample opportunity for landing some big wins. The last feature I picked up on was “Gamble”. Here you can decide to increase your wins by clicking on “Gamble” after a recent win. There are 4 stages in this feature and it is a heads or tails scenario. If you select the correct symbol then your winnings are doubled and you will go forward to the next stage but if you lose then the feature ends abruptly.

Theme, Graphics and Sound

The first thing that impressed me about this game was the original HBO score playing in the background. It is haunting and beautiful and puts you into the Game of Thrones zone right away.

The graphics are superb and the House symbols of each family are faithfully recreated with extraordinary detail. You can tell just from playing this game that a lot of work went into it to make it as close to the TV show and book as possible.

Our Verdict on Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones is made by Microgaming and is an extremely faithful adaptation of the “Fire and Ice” novels. It does a stellar job of recreating the atmosphere of the show and with lots of original bonus features, you will find yourself spinning those reels again and again!
