Bridesmaids from Microgaming: Slot Review - join the ladies in preparation for the big day

This slot game is based on the Bridesmaids movie which was the biggest breakout comedy of 2011. I remember seeing this movie and laughing quite a lot as it was funny, charming and raunchy. It was refreshing to see a cast of excellent female comedians who went on to become big players in Hollywood nowadays most notably Melissa McCarthy and Kirsten Wiig.

I was keen to see how the movie translates as a slot game and I was rather surprised to see that it is a charming little game to play.

The game has 5 reels and 40 paylines and comes with some very interesting features. So get ready to walk down the aisle with the girls in tow and start spinning those reels!

Special Features

As standard, the Wild Symbol replaces all symbols on the reels except the Scatter symbol but comes stacked which is a nice bonus. It is displayed as the Bridesmaids logo.

The first noticeable feature that struck me while playing this game was the Wheel Bonus feature. This is triggered when 3 or more of the Cupcake Scatter symbols land on the reels. You will then get to spin the Bonus Wheel and win one of 15 prizes. The prizes include 10 cash prizes, 4 bonus features and 1 jackpot prize. I liked this feature as it takes you away from the slot game and into an entirely new setup and opens up way more opportunities to reel in some major money.

The first round of the Wheel Bonus is the Cupcake Booster feature. In this feature, you get to choose from 4 cupcakes and the prizes include an increase to all pink or blue cash prizes, an increase to all wheel cash prizes or the option to add 2 extra wheel pointers. There is the potential to win up to 300 times your original bet if you land the reels successfully.

The next round takes you to the 4 bonus features and they are:

Theme, Graphics and Sound

This game is lovely to look at and really suits the theme of the movie well. Lots of purple, violet and pink colours on display and it makes the game standout and look really colourful.

The animations run smoothly and the reel symbols really pop when spinning.

The music is playful as you would expect but suits the game and is a nice wink to the movie too.

Our Verdict on Bridesmaids

Bridesmaids is made by Microgaming and being a fan of the comedy, I was bowled over at how fun it is to play. It has some really cool features and the Wheel Bonus really stood out for me while playing it. It is definitely ahead of other games in the move-inspired slots genre.
