Roulette, in any form, is quite easy to learn and fun to participate in. This queen of casino games was first introduced in the 18th century when monks from China travelled to France and introduced a Chinese game, played by using a wheel. With the passage of time, new features were added and roulette was born. The name of this game is based on a French term called “Roulette” literally meaning a small wheel.

With French settlers, this game landed on the shores of the American continent and a new Americanized version of this game came into existence. As the popularity of roulette grew with time, new forms and versions were introduced.

Some players even claim that they have found the best system for roulette in order to beat the house. However, the truth is that roulette systems can bring the house edge down but can't eliminate it. So, in other words, you can't beat the house you can just play with more chances to win but in the long term, the house has the advantage.

If we want to define this game, then roulette can be described as a game which depends solely on the luck of the participants. The gameplay of roulette is quite simple and involves betting on a particular number, group of numbers, colour and other combinations available on the roulette table.

Once bets are placed, the croupier turns the wheel and drops the ball. The ball moves on the spinning wheel and finally lands into a notch. Winners are declared on the basis of the place where the ball lands.

Though many types of roulette are currently available in the market, the gameplay of the majority remains the same.
