The Martingale Roulette Strategy
2018-03-17 15:00:00Roulette is a casino game named after the French word meaning little wheel. In the game, players may choose to place bets on either a single number or a range of numbers, the colours red or black, or whether the number is odd or even, or if the numbers are high (19–36) or low (1–18). To determine the winning number and colour, a croupier or dealer spins a wheel in one direction, then spins a ball in the opposite direction around a tilted circular track running around the circumference of the wheel. The ball eventually loses momentum and falls onto the wheel and into one of 37 (in French/European Roulette) or 38 (in American Roulette) coloured and numbered pockets on the wheel. Sounds simple, doesn’t it?! In this article, we had a look at a Roulette Strategy you should consider the next time you are having a flutter on the Roulette wheel.
The Martingale Roulette Strategy
The Martingale Roulette system is, without a doubt, the most common strategy of all. However, is it that successful? The Martingale Roulette Strategy is based on betting on colours on the Roulette wheel. Every colour has 18 numbers. On the Roulette table, there is red and black. There is also a 0, which doesn't belong to any of the colours. If 0 comes, and you bet on either red or black, you won't win. So, with 0, there are 37 numbers on the Roulette. There is also the American version of Roulette, where there is 38 number while the extra number is also null and is marked 00 or double zero. Because of the double zero, this Roulette unsuitable for the Martingale Roulette Strategy, because it lowers the chances of the player winning.
For this example of the Martingale Roulette Strategy, we will start with a stake of €1. Place 1 euro on Red. If the ball falls in red you win 1 euro. If not, then you lose 1 euro. You are now 1 euro out of pocket. If you lost €1, in this round, you bet €2 in the next round on the same colour. If you win this round, you will be up to €2, which can make amends for the loss in the last round and you will also get another €1. If lose in this round too, you will be losing €3 which does not matter, because in the next round you will stake €4 and if you win, you will be up €1 in the black. You must keep doubling your bet till you win and get €1. From then, you will start over with a €1 bet and follow a similar pattern, till you guess the colour right again and get another euro. Ideally, a player can get by small steps to large winnings. However, this theory solely works, if you follow strict rules, that if broken, will cause the player to lose all cash. This is the basic Martingale Roulette Strategy. It only favours those with a large betting balance as it could technically go on forever.
Is this Roulette Strategy allowed to be used in casinos?
Yes, it is. The Martingale system is a betting pattern; it is in no way illegal. The casino will gladly accept your business and why wouldn’t they. They have a 2.70% edge in their favour. The only risk on your part is that you go through an extremely unlucky losing streak and find yourself in a hole that you cannot dig yourself out of. We recommend you start with small stakes first so you get a feel for the system and then you can gradually increase your stakes as you gain more confidence.
