Unibet is still a relative newcomer to the world of online poker and they’re still working hard to carve out a niche for themselves in an extremely competitive market. Over the past few years, they’ve been constantly upgrading their software and adding new features to improve their poker platform. As well as a complete overhaul of their MTT schedule Unibet will also be MTT lobby and introducing two new blind structures.
Unibet’s Head of Poker, David Pomroy, said: “The new structures we’re adding will feature antes from the start and give players a much smoother transition between levels. We’re also excited to add larger prize pools in fields where players don’t have to battle against thousands of other players.”
October will also see the return of the popular ‘Moving on Up’ promotion at Unibet which rewards players who play a minimum number of MTTs each week with cash game tickets. The value of the cash game tickets will increase every week until they’ll be worth £$€25 each. Unibet has also announced that it will be pooling all low stake live event qualifiers under one umbrella which will allow players to choose the Unibet tour that they’d like to qualify for.
It’s been revealed that Unibet have been planning the changes for some time but wanted to perfect their poker platform before introducing any changes. Pomroy explained: “As tournament players ourselves, we’ve been planning to overhaul our MTT schedule for a while but wanted to focus on software improvements first. The client is in great shape now and so it’s time we gave MTT players at Unibet and beyond something to shout about.”
Pomroy also went on to say that the new changes aren’t set in stone and that Unibet will continue to adapt to meet player demands: “As always we’ll be encouraging feedback from players and will tweak and optimize things over time. We’re also going to be aggressive with guarantees across the schedule, increasing them wherever we see increased demand.”
Each Sunday at Unibet the weekly MTT action will culminate with 6 Sunday Major tournaments. The tournaments offer something for players of all levels with various buy-ins, formats, prize pools, blind levels and starting stacks. To make things a little more interesting Unibet have made the new tournaments space themed, aiming to boldly go where no online casino has gone before!
