Their latest Golden Button Challenge promotion is sure to excite both old and new players.
Golden Button Challenge
PokerStars Golden Button Challenge is a new promotion which will be exclusive to the site’s European players. After a successful trial period in Spain, Italy and France the promotion is set for a European wide release which is likely to be followed by a worldwide rollout of the promotion. The promotion challenges players to collect bonus points by winning hands at Texas Hold’em while holding an ace. Points targets are set for each player which when reached will unlock prizes worth anything from £$€0.50 to £$€20,000. Every day during the promotional period players can win a new prize.
All points targets and rewards in the Golden Button Challenge are unique to each player. The promotion sees players placed in one of four buckets or categories. Players in different buckets will be offered different rewards with some players able to avail of better rewards than players in a lesser bucket. In the top category, the rewards can be up to 20 times greater than those in the lowest category. For Group A players the prizes are small with the rewards getting progressively bigger for players from category B to D. The idea behind the system is to offer something for both casual and more regular players. It is a similar system to the PokerStars ‘Star Rewards’ program where players collect points to unlock ‘chests’ for rewards.
Every group has a top prize of £$€20,000. The odds of winning the top prize greatly increases as you move from Group A to Group D. The odds of winning the top prize in Group A is 1 in 100,000 but only 1 in 10,000 for players in Group D. The lowest prizes on offer in each group are also different. The bottom prize in Group A is £$€0.50 while in the top group D it is 10 times more at £$€5. There is, therefore, a huge difference in the frequency in which prizes paid out and their value between the groups.
