Who will Barcelona Sign?

Having lost Neymar to PSG for the princely sum of €222 million, Barcelona needs strengthening and have plenty of cash to splash. Liverpool’s Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho has been strongly linked with a €100 million move and he is ¼ to join the Blaugrana before September 1st. The figure would represent a huge profit for the Merseyside club having signed him for a fraction of the price from Inter Milan. Moreover, Coutinho has not proved to be the most consistent of performers and many fans believe the money should be snatched while it’s there.

Borussia Dortmund striker Ousmane Dembele is 1/5 to join the Catalonian side this window and would represent a future investment in the attacking department. Out of favour, Sergio Aguero can be backed at a tasty 16/1, whilst Alexis Sanchez is 20/1 with Paddy Power to make a return to the club.

Dare to Gamble on Zlatan?

Manchester United released Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer, with the Swedish icon nursing an injury following a successful season. The much-travelled striker is 4/6 to make a return to the club before the window shuts but is a free agent at the moment. Zlatan is 2/1 to rejoin his old club AC Milan, who have spent money for fun this summer and need a replacement for outgoing Carlos Bacca. The MLS has been a retirement home for many European stars and Ibra is 6/4 to join any side in the league. For the fanciful, Celtic can be backed at 66/1 with Paddy Power.

Where will Kylian Mbappe go?

The French starlet pulled up trees last season and is undoubtedly the hottest available property on the transfer market. His future is still up in the air, with huge fees being touted for his purchase. PSG are 6/4 favourites to capture the sensation, and the thought of him playing alongside Neymar is mouthwatering. That would bring spending on the duo up towards €400 million plus, so perhaps a little unlikely. Real Madrid are known suitors and can be backed at 9/5 with Paddy Power. Paddy Power go 13/5 that he stays in the principality, whilst Barcelona are 4/1 to sign the striker in a most competitive race for his signature.

Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool?

Van Dijk’s transfer has been perhaps the most drawn out of the summer with Liverpool accused of illegally tapping up the player. Charges were dropped when Liverpool cooled off their interest. With the player recently submitting a transfer request, Liverpool are 8/13 with Paddy Power to sign the Dutch defender. Chelsea have strengthened with the signing of Antonio Rudiger and are 11/5 to further reinforce the defence. Ex-Celtic star Van Dijk, who has proven himself to be one of the best centre-backs in the league, is 4/1 to stay on the south coast. Given Liverpool’s obsession with buying Southampton players and a need for defensive reinforcements, a move to Anfield looks the best bet.
