He describes the moment when he first saw his account balance blow up and how he couldn’t believe it at first. The cautious player was still convinced that it was some sort of scam but soon had confirmation that he had in fact beaten all the odds and was instantly £764,834 richer. “I was in absolute shock. I had to call the help desk and confirm that I’d really won”.

It was only after Paddy Power had confirmed the win that he allowed himself to celebrate properly. “From there, I was in hysterics. I texted my missus right away. I told her she needed to be sitting down. I had to Whatsapp her a picture of the jackpot win, and it was hysterics all over again.”

Despite becoming more than £760,000 richer the careful player stated that the money won’t change him. He says he’ll splash some of the cash on a new house and car but won’t be quitting his job anytime soon. “I always said that if I won a load of cash, I wouldn’t change the way I worked. I’ve always worked hard. In fact, I’m in work on the phone to you and I have a long shift tomorrow I’ll be back in for!”
