Jackpotjoy have unveiled English comedian and TV present Paddy McGuinness as the new face of Jackpotjoy. McGuiness will succeed the ‘Queen of Bingo’, actress Barbara Windsor, as Jackpotjoy’s sole brand ambassador. The Bolton funny man, who rose to fame as the presenter of ITV’s hit dating show ‘Take Me Out’, will assume the throne with immediate effect, becoming the new ‘King of Bingo’.

The New ‘King of Bingo’

The announcement came less than a week after Jackpotjoy launched their new ‘integrated advertising campaign’ which aims to build brand awareness through social media and TV content. The first adverts featuring Paddy McGuinness began airing on Thursday, September 14th. Paddy can be seen giving his house a royal makeover as he prepares to take on the new mantle of the ‘King of Bingo’. He prepares his house by embellishing it with royal-themed items and even has his own version of the corgi dog, a whippet. McGuiness invites the ‘Queen of Bingo’, Barbara Winsor, into her home to show off his royal wears before she grants him her royal blessings.

Speaking of the advert and his new role McGuinness said: “What a thrill to be Jackpotjoy’s new royal ambassador and be a part of this fantastic campaign. Bingo is in my blood. My mum used to work in the local bingo halls around Bolton and it’s a game that this country loves. As you’ll see in the advert, it was an emotional moment for me to receive the final endorsement for the legendary Barbra Windsor.”

The Chief Executive of Jackpotjoy, Irina Cornides, was similarly upbeat, she said: “We’re ecstatic to welcome Paddy on board as the new face of our latest Jackpotjoy campaign. We wanted someone who fitted well with the brand and, just like Jackpotjoy, Paddy is entertaining, fun and someone that our target audience resonates with.”

A Gift

To celebrate his coronation Jackpotjoy are offering all of their members the chance to get their hands on a limited edition free gift. 5,000 lucky players will receive a special Paddy McGuinness Royal Bolton commemorative plate to make the occasion of Paddy assuming his throne. McGuiness joked; “Everyone has a dream when they’re growing up and mine was definitely to have my very own commemorative plate. Who’d have thought people would be eating their pie and gravy off a plate with my face on it?”.

Long Live the King

Jackpotjoy will be hoping that McGuiness’ TV charm and humour will have bingo player flocking to their site. Adam Trainis, Head of Brand for Jackpotjoy outlined the reasoning behind the company’s decision to choose McGuiness as their new brand ambassador. “We’re delighted that Paddy has agreed to become the new Jackpotjoy royal. He’s a fun guy and consummate professional with a warm and engaging personality. Jackpotjoy is all about entertainment and fun and Paddy sits perfectly with our audience. He was the ideal successor to take over from Barbara, our Queen of Bingo, who has been such a fantastic ambassador for us over the past seven years. We’re looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Paddy. Here’s to a successful reign with his majesty at the throne” he said.
