Las Vegas to host a Special Edition of the Unibet European Open

Since 2007 Unibet have running the European Open poker tournament, one of the hottest poker events of the calendar attracting both amateur and professional players. The series sees players battling it out for six figure jackpots at some of the best poker destinations in Europe from sunny beaches in June to Christmas celebration events in wintry December. The competition isn’t just a tournament, it’s a poker player’s dream getaway including a 4-day luxury hotel stay, parties, a full complement of hospitality, casino and of course poker! Unibet have announced that to celebrate the European Open’s 10th birthday the series will be travelling to Las Vegas, for the first time.

For the last decade, Unibet have run one of Europe’s largest and best poker tournaments. The tournament has carved out itself a successful niche by catering to both amateur and professional players, it is neither too big nor too small. 2016 saw the tournament held in Bucharest, Romania, were a total of 603 players battled it out for a prize pool of €500,000. Local player Traian Boston came out on top, netting an impressive €100,000. This year sees Unibet raise the tournament stakes further by hosting the tournament in the gambling ‘gambling capital of the world, Las Vegas.

Viva Las Vegas


This September Las Vegas will host the 10th edition of the Unibet European Open poker tournament. From September 29th to October 2nd players will battle it out at the world-famous Wynn hotel poker room, which has been awarded a whopping 13 Forbes travel guide 5 Star awards. The event has a $1,100 buy in with a single re-entry, a $20,000 starting stack and two starting flights. Blind levels on day 1 will be 30 minutes and 60 minutes on days 2, 3 and 4. The exact schedule of the tournament is not yet known but the tournament will be part of the Wynn Classics Fall edition which last year consisted of 8 events. The tournament will be the only Las Vegas land based poker tournament outside the World Series of Poker (WSOP) that you can qualify for online.

How to Book your Place


Unibet are offering players the chance to qualifying for the tournament from as little as €0.01 opening up the tournament to recreational players as well as online pros. Players can qualify through the Unibet satellite events which are held every Wednesday and Sunday. Players can directly buy into the tournament for €960 for a seat or for €2,250 for a seat and hotel package. The last Wednesday satellite tournament will take place on the 13th of September while the last Sunday satellite tournament takes place on the 17th of September. The deadline for the direct buy in is the 17th of September.

Through the satellite tournaments, 200 players will win prize packages worth €3,000 each. The package includes a 4-night hotel stay, €750 for travel expenses, access to the player’s party, Breakfast and dinner for the tournament period and buy-in to the event (€890 and €70).
