The first events under Genting Casino's latest partnership with the poker company are the PokerStars MEGASTACK tournaments. Currently, four events are scheduled with a £170 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of £25,000.

The link with PokerStars will allow more people to take part in the GPS, through the provision of a clear online qualification route," commented Kevin Proctor, Genting Casinos UK Poker Operations Manager.

For Genting Casino this partnership means more than 'just' additional players; it also raises the profile of the event. Pro player Jake Cody of Team PokerStars hopes to enter many of the events.
“I’m so excited that PokerStars has given players the opportunity to qualify online for the Genting Poker Series," commented Cody who is also a popular YouTube vlogger. Cody further added that both giants collaborating will result in "the best events for players".

Qualify, play and reap some serious rewards: hard cash

Next up in the Genting Casino calendar is a mini event in Luton in August with a guaranteed prize pool of £35,000. Last year's event saw the pool grow to £76,600 which gives players a good idea of what's in store at Genting Casino Luton this summer. The three-day tournament is followed by another series of mini events, including an event at Genting Casino's impressive flagship resort in Birmingham.
The highlight of the year takes place in November. The fabulous Genting Casino at Edinburgh's Fountain Park hosts Leg 13. Genting Casino belongs to the Malaysian entertainment conglomerate Genting Group. The partnership with PokerStars is part and parcel of its strategy. "The strategy to reduce short-term volatility in its premium players business continues to prove successful in developing a more sustainable business," commented Genting in a press release. Besides targeting premium players with more competitive and prestigious events, the company plans to introduce new attractions in the UK, including virtual reality games.
