Betfair teams up with Juventus

Betfair is one of the largest and most well established online casinos in the industry. The company is an international, multi-channel sports and gaming operation. A new sponsorship deal with one of the largest football teams in Italy, Juventus, is a massive coup for the company. Juventus are the current Italian Serie A champions and played their way to this season’s Champions League Final where they narrowly lost out to Spanish club Real Madrid.

Sports sponsorship has changed dramatically over the past decade, what was once a simple marketing ploy to raise brand awareness has turned into a multi-billion business platform. Football clubs teaming up with betting and online gaming companies is nothing new. In the English Premier League alone 10 teams are sponsored by betting and online gaming companies; West Ham (Betway), Swansea City (BetEast), Crystal Palace (ManBetX), Stoke City (Bet365), West Brom (UK-K8.com), Burnley FC (Dafabet), Watford (138.com), AFC Bournemouth (Mansion), Newcastle (Fun88.com) and Huddersfield Town (Ope Sports). They are all the main shirt sponsors with their logos appearing on all players and replica jerseys as well as appearing on club merchandise and around the home grounds.

This is a global business with companies based everywhere from China to the UK taking part. Outside of the UK, super clubs such as Real Madrid (Bwin) also have betting and online gaming sponsorships. Other companies have opted to become official partners with teams such as BetVictor and Liverpool.
