Holmes and the Stolen Stones from Yggdrasil Gaming: Slot Review - "elementary, my dear Watson"

I have always been a fan of one of the most famous sleuth detectives around so I jumped at the chance to visit Mr. Sherlock Holmes on Baker Street and see what he has in store for us in this game.

Created by Yggdrasil Gaming, the premise of the game is that Holmes is on the hunt for some stolen stones and it is to you to aid him in this quest and return the stones to their rightful owners.

With two ways of triggering Jackpot free spins and collecting shards to increase your chances of winning a Jackpot then what is stopping you from aiding Mr Holmes?

Special Features

Believe it or not but there are five progressive Jackpots in this game and you need to collect 5 Diamonds of the same matching colour in order to win of these Jackpots. The diamonds range in colour from value, for instance, the Blue Diamond is the lowest Jackpot whereas
the Pink Diamond is for the highest Jackpot.

The Free Spins mode is a definite highlight here as the multipliers are quite high (X3 in fact!). To trigger Free Spins, you need to match 3 or more Free Spin Scatters from either reel 1 or reel 5 and this will award you with 10 Free Spins. Another way to activate Free Spins is to land on 5 Diamond Stone Shards of the same colour. It is also worth noting that Free Spins are retriggerable.

Another interesting feature is the Warehouse Bonus Game. In this game, you have to open boxes that contain coins, diamonds and smoke bombs. Be careful of the smoke bombs as they will end the bonus game prematurely!

One other nice feature of this game is that it allows you to display the values as either cash or coins. This helps visually so you know exactly how much you win when the reels stop.

Theme, Graphics and Sound

I really like the look and feel of this game, it harkens back to the old school Sherlock Holmes in the Victorian days. It is definitely more along the lines of the Robert Downey Junior version than the more modern Benedict Cumberbatch one.

The graphics are nicely detailed and the symbols display wonderfully when the reels are moving. Always nice to see Holmes in his traditional Deerstalker hat and pipe!
I also enjoyed the tense music as it creates a sense of urgency as you play the game.

This game has 5 reels, 20 paylines, 5 progressive Jackpots, and a maximum prize of 10,000 coins.

Our Verdict on Holmes and the Stolen Stones

Holmes and the Stolen Stones is a fun jaunt into old Victorian times. The Holmes theme is lovingly displayed with intricate symbols, detailed animations and fun bonus games to play. The 5 progressive Jackpots and free spins definitely provide excellent replay value but patience is required here in order to obtain them.
