Special Features

The first feature to highlight is that the reels use the Double Money Burst format created by WMS. This an update to the original Money Burst feature seen in games such as Bruce Lee. It involves 2 different reels, one features 2x2 boxes (reels 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) and the other is a 3x6 box (reels 9,10,11). The 2x2 boxes are extremely important as they are the catalyst for forming winning combinations on the reels.

The Wild symbol is denoted by an image of Elvis - The King Lives with a red background. It substitutes for all symbols except the Feature symbol and it is also the highest paying symbol in the game. The Feature symbol is denoted by a black Elvis vinyl record.

An interesting thing to highlight is that the Free Spins feature can be triggered in a few different ways. For starters, if you land 4 matching symbols on reels 1,2,3,4 and/or 5,6,7,8 or 4 Feature symbols on reels 9,10,11 then you will activate it and receive 5 free spins as well as a 1X multiplier your total bet. Theme, Graphics and Sound

The game is fantastic to look at and it is full of life and bright colours with Elvis at the centre of it all. The reels are laid out superbly and I enjoyed the nice intro video you get when you load the game up as you get to see a few photos of Elvis in his prime back in the day. Symbols are wonderfully detailed and a nice nod to the King himself as they range from blue suede shoes, guitars and a hound dog for good measure!

The music is very Elvis-centric as you would expect and I must admit to being a fan so it was really cool to hear some of his great music while playing this game.

Our Verdict on Elvis - The King Lives

Elvis - The King Lives is made by WMS and it’s a fine representation of the king himself. I found the Double Money Burst feature to be highly innovative and it would be very interesting if more developers took a leaf out of WMS's book and displayed reels in this fashion. I also enjoyed how you could trigger the Free Spins feature a few different ways. This game is one of the most highly volatile slots that WMS has released recently so when you eventually win, expect it to be a rather large payout!
